The Tree of Liberty

Thank you for checking out my blog. I'm new to this, but in current times, the need for telling the truth is dire. "During times of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act." -George Orwell

Today, the average citizen is in contempt of our nation's founding documents. The Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, & Common Sense by Thomas Paine are crucial documents you must know in today's fight against a mainstream media whose main goal is to report on things such as American Idol and Jack Bauer. These issues aren't real issues. The American people are more concerned about voting for the next Idol than the fact that our liberties are being eroded everyday through unconstitutional and illegitimate legislation. Not only are they trained to choose sides, but they do so in politics. We have a stadium (The House) where we get to see Republicans and Democrats fight with words. This is all on C-SPAN. The people don't see that both the Republicans and Democrats are part of the same oligarchy of power. Barack Obama and John McCain sounded the exact same. They both wanted bipartisanship, which means, lets come to an agreement on issues making sure we each keep some of the same key principles intact. Now that Obama is in office, we can see more of the same policies as the Bush Administration. Support for the Patriot Act, after during his campaign he preached his stance against the act. He promised to end the war within 18 months, changed it to 36 months and now we are fighting on two fronts, Iraq and Afghanistan. Both Hilary Clinton and John McCain said they could see us there for up to 50 years! People, the WWE is no longer the World Wrestling Entertainment, but the Washington Wrestling Entertainment, and it is aired on C-SPAN. It is all staged, and after show is down airing, they all go out for drinks. This is who you vote for, it is just another popularity contest.

This is my point. We need to regain our love and knowledge for American history. It is true that without the knowledge of history, you are doomed to repeat yourself. What is happening now, happened before, read the books! Study the Constitution, know your Rights, your inalienable, personal Rights created within you, that no person, and no government can take away. Without a knowledge of your Rights, you will have them stripped away, because you won't be able to defend what you do not know.

Here are some quotes that define what I'm doing here:

"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants." -Thomas Jefferson

"Educate and inform the whole mass of the people... They are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty."  -Thomas Jefferson

"You have rights antecedent to all earthly governments; rights that cannot be repealed or restrained by human laws; rights derived from the Great Legislator of the Universe." -John Adams

"Any people that would give up liberty for a little temporary safety deserves neither liberty nor safety." -Benjamin Franklin

"This is the tendency of all human governments. A departure from principle becomes a precedent for a second; that second for a third; and so on, till the bulk of society is reduced to mere automatons of misery, to have no sensibilities left but for sinning and suffering... And the fore horse of this frightful team is public debt. Taxation follows that, and in its train wretchedness and oppression." -Thomas Jefferson
